He glanced down at his arm. Good; the SABER team would be here within ten minutes to take care of this ship and investigate. Riley just needed to make sure they got here and could take jurisdiction. He wasn't sure if this girl would try anything, so that's one reason he kept her riled up, to just try to keep her talking, or even better yet, take a shot at him. That would give him reason enough to take her down and arrest her, just to make sure there were no obstacles to the ship.
"I know how men like him act," he said, "Even with the best intentions at heart, we're all monsters. Some just get out, like him."

Cécile was shaking with anger. He...He had just called her brother, the most important person in the world to her, a monster! What gave him that right?! She really, really, really wanted to punch him. She tried to remember why she was restraining herself. Right...Adam...promise...Logi.
"HE WAS NOT A MONSTER!" she said dangerously. Calm down. Calm down. Calm down. "You know nothing about my brother! He was kind, caring, and responsible! He was the best person I ever knew and the world is much worse off without him!" Calm down. Calm down. Calm down.

"Much worse without a murderer?" he questioned, "I read his case file," he lifted his arm to show her his Responder, "He could have just waited for authorities, used the gun as a threat. But he murdered his own mother. Matricide is never right, no matter what has happened. You would call him anything but a monster?" he questioned.

Cécile's last straw snapped. She couldn't hit him like this. No, as much as she really wanted to rough up that pretty face of his it would be too risky with her increased strength as KyoryuCyan. She reverted to her normal form and stared with a murderous intensity back into Riley's eyes.
She slowly walked up to him until there were mere inches between their faces. He had a gun and she didn't. She knew it was stupid; but, she didn't care. "My brother was not a murderer," she said venomously as she moved to slap him.

He glanced down at her arm, "You do that, I break your arm," he warned her, saying nothing else, holding a cold calmness to his voice. His visibly scarred left arm tensed, ready to catch her arm if she tried to hit him.

She'd been given a second chance, a moment to calm down. She breathed hard, trying to figure out what she wanted to do. She so wanted to hit him with all her strength. She was well trained and she might be able to hurt him before he responded. But what would that lead to? That definitely wouldn't help with the Logi issue. And if Adrian were here he'd probably tell her not let him rile her up this much. And then there was Adam. She had promised she'd try her best to warn everyone. Was she really doing her best?
She continued to stare at Riley and her hand was trembling but she refrained at least for the moment from acting on impulse. "This, is not what I'm here for," she spat. "Adrian is none of your business. I saw something and it was my responsibility to report it. There's a damaged Logi scout in there that you can study. And you have the ship. I'm not asking that you take what I say on faith. I'm asking that you look into it and leave my family history out of it!" she seethed.

"Oh, we plan on looking into it," he said, "I'd be foolish to walk in there alone, considering I don't entirely trust you. I have to wait for others to come, so that we can secure it safely." Yeah, he didn't care that he had just told her that others were coming; they'd be here soon enough, and if she tried something he could handle her alone, he figured.

"I'm not asking you to trust me. It makes sense that you wouldn't. But for the record I'm not the one with a criminal record. I'm sure you've already looked me up. I'm clean." At least she'd never been caught for her minor transgressions. As much as she loved breaking the rules, her game was mischievous not malicious and she was good at avoiding detection in such matters.

"Human nature isn't always recorded in the law," he told her, "You can have a clean record, but I still won't trust you."

"Well my story sounds crazy to even me so it's to be expected. But tell me, are all the military this pleasant or just you?" she asked sarcastically. "Bashing my brother seems kind of unnecessary. I've done nothing to deserve your rudeness," she asserted.

"You've earned my ire by being a young girl with power," he told her, "Because looking at you, I don't think you can do the job you should be doing."

"Is this a sexist thing?" she asked bluntly. "Would you feel better if I was a young guy with power?"

"No. Either way, I don't think your age can fight like you should be."

"First of all, I didn't exactly choose this. I was selected. Second of all, what age is the 'right' age? You have to start training at some point. You don't just magically become competent all of a sudden. Your reflexes are better and you're more adaptable when you're younger. I'd argue this is the proper time."

"It might be the proper time to start training, but not to be a warrior. I'll admit I'm wrong, assuming someone of your age has been trained competently, but for some reason I doubt it. That age lacks the dedication."
