"Oh...," she said, "I'm not really the person to talk to...," she admitted, "But I have some extra room...I think...," she said, unable to properly gain a memory. Rian would already be there, clearing out her home, and Rui knew she lived alone. How she lived in an actual house was the part that confused her.

Jun beamed at her. "Do you think it would be alright if I stay here then?!" he asked excitedly. That would be a perfect way to keep an eye on her!
He decided to say as little as possible for the moment. Jun was a go with the flow kind of guy. He tried to let everything roll off his back. Well everything that didn't have to do with Makai business. Eventually he'd have to come up with some sort of story as to why he was here with no job or place to stay so to speak but he'd cross that bridge when he came to it.

"Um...I know I offered, but I don't really know you...," she said. She figured he'd understand that. She was a good person, but wasn't going to just let some stranger walk in and stay at her house.

Jun smiled sadly. "Of course! I'm so sorry that I imposed on you! It's just..there were complications and I had to leave in...well immediately. But if you could direct me to some sort of park or public area I'm sure no one would bother me. I mean...I doubt I'd have enough money for a hotel anyway."

"Oh no...you can stay with me," she said, "I mean...," she turned away from him, "I...I just need a little time to think."

"I'm really sorry!" he apologized. "I...If you'd be kind enough to let me stay I wouldn't expect to be some sort of free loader. I'd help you in any way I possibly could! I'm...Things are just a mess right now." Well at least that last part was true. Apparently the whole Makai Order was going to hell in a hand basket. He'd never wanted to be involved in Order politics but what was going on now was freaken nuts.

"Oh, um, sure," she said, giving him a small smile, "I'd like the help that you could give." She walked over to the counter and turned back to him, "I have your coat I think...," she said, pulling it off.

So he was probably going to have a part time job. Just one where his pay was in rent. Oh well. He didn't really need money. He'd just have to suck up having less free time than ever before. It was his responsibility to watch after Rui now.
He gratefully accepted the coat. "I covered you when you passed out. I must admit I was a little worried!" Rui seemed sweet. He actually felt a little bad about deceiving her. His father hadn't just taught him how to fight but how to lie convincingly. He had insisted that people were better off living in ignorance when it came to Horrors.
Being a Maki Knight, Jun really didn't doubt that. He would have loved to be ignorant and have a real future. But in any case, his father had instructed him on how to lie on the spot and explain away the seemingly inexplicable. It all came back to the fact the Makai Knight's whole purpose was to give the innocent dreams and a future. The Makai Knights sacrificed everything, even the ability to share the truth, so that innocents could sleep more soundly.

She gave him a smile, "Thanks for that then," she said, moving behind the counter, "I work for another twenty minutes," she told him, "If you wanted to stay you could, then I can show you where I live...or we, I guess," she said. She'd decided that yeah, he was fine to take in.

He returned the smile; but, he felt incredibly guilty. She was grinning at him and thanking him when he had let her family die and let her be tainted by Horror blood. And he'd be the one to kill her in just under 100 days. He hadn't even been able to save her memories. True, it was easier to look after her this way but it was wrong that her memories had been tampered with. She should have had the ability to choose.
"You've been so kind! Please is there anything I can do to help with the shop?!" he asked earnestly. He grinned back at her. "And thank you so much for giving me a place to stay! You have no idea what this means to me!"

She looked around a little, and then back to him, "I don't think so," she told him, "I think this is pretty good for now. Thank you for offering, though, Jun-kun." She added the honorific because why not? It would work out.

Jun-kun. That was good. She was referring to him familiarly. Keeping her close would be easier this way. He wondered how much Uriel was going to scold him later for this.
"No problem. Just let me know if there's ever anything I can do to help. May I call you Rui-chan?" he asked politely. He shouldn't just assume familiarity even though she'd called him Jun-kun. She was giving him a place to stay. It was only right that she call him whatever she wanted.

She nodded once, "Feel free to," she told him.

Well...He supposed his Makai business was technically concluded so..He walked up to Rui-chan smiling, and using his 'mundane magic' made a rose appear in her hair. He gently removed it and handed it to her. "I'm rather fond of parlor tricks, Rui-chan," he admitted, still beaming. Yes, this type of magic was the one thing he'd been able to choose for himself. It wasn't something he needed to learn but something he'd picked even if he was teased since he could cast real spells. It was precious to him.
"I probably have at least enough money to buy a few flowers for these tricks. What types would you suggest I buy?"

That was amazing! She took the rose with a big smile and held it in both hands. "Oh, um...," she turned and looked at the selections around her, "I guess that depends on what kinds of tricks you want them for." That's what she assumed he might want them for,at least. Or did he actually want to buy some? In which case that was going to take a few moments of thought on.
