"And this person didn't explain anything?" she asked in disbelief. Why would someone just mystically infuse someone with power without teaching them how to use it or what it meant. That seemed really irresponsible to Sayuri.

Against his will?! That was terrible! Sayuri was typically very disciplined but this was upsetting. She took a moment to compose herself.
'Matters of great concern should be treated lightly,' she mentally chanted to herself again and again until she was convinced her spirit was more or less under control.
She contemplated saying she was sorry. But would that help? Maybe that would just sound terrible.
"Do you regret it?" she finally asked him. Even if it was against his will maybe he had made peace with it. After all, he could be a savior because of this power.

A wise answer. People knew so little. And it was best to be honest about that fact. You'd get into trouble trying to convince yourself you understood more than you did even when it came to matters of the human heart. Or maybe especially when it came to matters of the human heart.

She shouldn't have worried about this one's confidence. He was far too arrogant for his own good. How could someone expect to be devoted to protecting the innocent when he thought so highly of himself?
"Do not lose yourself in the waters of revenge. Protecting the innocent should be your priority. What this person did to you was terrible but you should not seek him out. You should focus on helping, preserving. If this person causes further trouble then it is only natural that your blades will cross paths. Until then, don't pursue him. You have more important work to do."

Even if you're not actively pursuing them it does sound like you want vengeance. But that's wrong. The desire to protect is pure. It shouldn't be tainted by other negative emotions. Make sure your spirit is in its proper place."
