"There are a total of seven," Mezool reminded her, "You have to eliminate six people, that means." Well, and the Greeed; twelve.
--
"A pastry?" Nathan questioned, turning to Ankh, "Why would you want a pastry? It's doughy and it'll make you fat," he said. "Besides, I figure I've bought you enough food."

Ankh glared at Nathan and gestured towards himself. "I am at the peak of human of perfection. Admittedly this form is nothing compared to the gloriousness of my true form but in terms of human standards it couldn't be better."
"I want one because it's delicious! Now get me one now!" he barked.

"Hey, I'm also in great physical condition, and I don't touch the stuff," he told Ankh, "I'm not going to sit and watch you eat something I wish I could." Well, he could, he'd just work it off, but he really didn't want to.

Ankh looked Nathan over with a critical eye. "You are in good condition," he acknowledged. "You don't look as good as me but I tampered with my host. He didn't naturally look this pleasing."
Ankh gazed at Nathan with disdain. "You're going to become a king, Nathan. The first rule of a king is that he takes what he wants. If you want a pastry you should obtain one. You can always exercise or something later. A king should never deprive himself of something he desires. Now I order you to go buy us pastries!"

"You know, that whole host thing still disturbs me," he said, "What? Did you lose your original body? I mean, you were kind of human once, weren't you?" He took Ankh's other words into consideration. Yeah, he could have what he wanted, but the only thing he wanted out of being the king was to be well known through the world. That was all; he'd keep living his life as he had been.

"What I was doesn't matter," he said sharply. "It's what I will become that's important," he insisted. His father had created him but it was that same father who had betrayed him and sealed him away. He cared nothing for his father's original intentions at this point.
"I needed a host so I could blend in. My true form, as magnificent as it might be, would attract far too much attention. As for the host, you need not worry about him. You do so worry about pointless and stupid things; but, this man was on the verge of death. In a sense, I'm preserving his life."
"But in any case, I want a pastry! Now go get me one!"

"So...you were...born - is that the word? - as a bird monster?" he asked. Well, that sounded like it might be insensitive, but he didn't care. Ankh was kind of a bird monster. He wasn't a human in that form, so monster seemed the best choice of a word, "I figured you guys might have been born with the ability to move back and forth. You know, to blend in."

"Tell me Nathan, do you view yourself as a monster when you transform?" he asked in a dangerously soft tone. "Do you see yourself as some sort of bird monster?" he seethed. "If so perhaps you'd prefer I give my Medals to someone else. Then you wouldn't have to concern yourself with such things."
He glared at him. "And if you want to speak of my father perhaps we should first talk of yours," he snapped, knowing that Nathan's father was a touchy subject. Perhaps as touchy as his own beginnings. "How my father created me, what he wanted for me...Now I no longer care. I have my own goals and ambitions and I will see them accomplished."

Once his father was mentioned, he tuned Ankh out. He just shook his head and walked away from him, "That's it, I'm done!" he shouted at Ankh, "I'm done for now," he said again for clarification. He wanted to keep fighting, but right now? No, right now he was done with Ankh.
We should wait for Crim.

"Six sounds feasible" she said, holding her belt in her hand. "You just tell me when. I'm at your beck and call."

Ankh wasn't sure if he was angrier at himself or Nathan. He was furious that Nathan should consider his godly bird form monstrous. It was gorgeous, magnificent, the epitome of perfection itself. But then there was himself. He was a Greeed, a being far superior to humans. Why should he allow his 000 to upset him? It was Nathan's own shortcomings and ignorance that allowed him to perceive his glorious form as monstrous.
Well as his 000 was being childish and temperamental he would have to obtain some pastries himself. He stole several pastries and began to feast. And then he was hit with a strange emotion, something he wasn't used to experiencing. Guilt? Was that what he was feeling? Why should he, a supremely perfect being, feel guilty about upsetting some human sensibility?
Well as a Greeed he was superior to humans in every way. It was only natural that his 000 would be more touchy about his father's misdeeds. Ankh's father's betrayal was incredibly upsetting. It still bothered him. But his mental fortitude was stronger than Nathan's. He shouldn't expect Nathan to be able to handle the subject of his father. He needed to remember that despite Nathan's promise, he was still a weak human.
Ankh decided to save a pastry for Nathan.

Jessica pulled out an ecig, turning it on with the push of a button. She put the device to her lips and waited for it to start up. "And how do we do that? Its not like they'll all magically show up in London?"

"London is a big city in this world, some of them may be British. It'll work out," she said.

As much as as Ankh's concern for Nathan troubled him, he really didn't like leaving his 000 to his own devices for long. What if he was attacked? Nathan, was good. Of course he was. That was why Ankh had selected him. Still, at the end of the day he was only a weak human. It was best for Ankh to keep a close eye on him. It was only natural for a king to protect its pawns. Even a pawn could revolutionalise the game and bring about checkmate.
He planned on keeping his distance. For the moment Nathan needed space. But he would locate him and keep him within eye shot until he came to his senses and calmed down about his father. Besides, Nathan had said he had a bad feeling. Occasionally human intuition proved correct. Ankh should be somewhat careful in case his 000's gut feeling meant anything.
