Nathan had been performing in London for the past few days on the stage. Evidently he was either good enough to be called to another country, or he just got lucky. He figured he was well enough known and loved by the masses. Anything else might break his heart.
"Ah, London," he said as he walked around in the afternoon sun, "So wonderful." He tossed one of his Medals into the air and caught it a few times. He wondered how pissed Ankh would be if the Greeed knew he wasn't here fighting.

Jessica walked down the street, toying with her own medal in her pocket. There wasn't much to do in foggy old London... She saw a poster advertising a play that night. "Eh, why not" she said.

Ankh would never admit it but he was quite excited to be in a new country. The world had changed a good bit since he was sealed and he was eager to experience the differences for himself. True the humans had certainly made a mess of some things with all their unnecessary toys but he had to acknowledge their technology had been good to him so far. He was privy to feats that had been unthinkable in the past. It was a shame he needed to rely on the playthings of humans but winning the war was his priority. He would use whatever was at his disposal.
After making the necessary preparations to assure that his hair and clothes were in proper place, he stepped outside. He needed to keep an eye on Nathan, make sure he wasn't getting into any trouble. He frowned, again wondering why he was so protective of his 000. He shrugged it off. A king did need to look after his pieces to some extent to ascertain victory.
He found Nathan tossing his Medals and stepped up behind him, glaring. "I'll kill you if you lose those Medals!" he said harshly.

Nathan stumbled a little and turned around, "Ankh," he said, shaking his head, "You really shouldn't do that." Yes, he should be more used to people behind him, and he should be used to Ankh's voice and his harsh tone, but something about it shocked him. It felt like less of Ankh, more of a bad feeling he had deep in his gut. He pushed the Medal into his pocket, "How could I lose one of them?" he asked, "These things will make me a king. I'd never lose one."

Mezool strode a bit behind Jessica, just looking around, taking in her surroundings for now.

"You're the one who shouldn't be carelessly tossing his Medals!" he snapped. "I don't think I need to remind you that without them you can't fight!" Fighting was brutish and inelegant but sadly necessary. Not everything could be resolved by stealing and playing with human toys.
He was about to scold Nathan again when he noticed he looked troubled. "What's wrong?" he asked, both disgusted and surprised by the concern in his voice. What were this mere human's troubles to a being as supreme and glorious as Ankh, the Bird Greeed?

"It's just a feeling," he said, an odd feeling that he couldn't place or describe. "Hey Ankh, do you actually call yourself that to other people?" he asked, partially trying to change the subject, "I mean, that's a fine name, but as a human? I don't think so."

Ankh was relieved with the change of subject. He didn't particularly want to think about why he was so concerned about his 000's well being. "Of course I call myself Ankh," he scoffed. "It is a wondrous and glorious name! I can think of none that would be better. But really, it's typically irrelevant. Do you think I waste my time with humans on a daily basis?"

"None that would be better?" he questioned, "Oh, I think I have one that beats it." Of course that name was 'Nathan', but he figured it didn't need saying. "So, am I the only person you ever talk to then?" he questioned.

Ankh chuckled, reading Nathan's thoughts. This man was practically as narcissistic as himself. He obviously felt his name was superior. "Nathan is so mundane and commonplace. Ankh is much more spirited and exciting," he asserted.
He paused at Nathan's question. "Well I have spoken to one other," he said hesitantly, not quite sure if he wanted to broach the subject.

"...you're an Egyptian artifact!" he told Ankh. Wait...he'd spoken to someone else? "Really? I figured if you had you'd have lied about it. Care to tell me anything else?"

Jessica turned around and saw Mezool behind her. "Nice to see you again" she said, stretching. "I was getting starting to get bored" she said with a smirk.

"Do you remember what the Ancient Egyptian symbol represented?" he pressed. "Only the Gods and pharaohs, considered living gods, of old were depicted with them. Well occasionally the queens would be shown with them as well. Those that held them were viewed as special and distinct from everyone else. They were isolated in terms of their uniqueness." He rather liked the symbolism. Yes, Ankh was a very fitting name for someone as magnificent as him.
Ankh had been meaning to ask Nathan's advice about this girl he'd met. Nathan did seem to be very well versed in women after all. But now that it came down to it he wasn't sure he wanted to discuss it. Really, he shouldn't be thinking about a human to begin with.
"I talked to someone. Not that exciting," he lied.

"Well, you sure do think highly of yourself," he laughed and walked on, "Well, if you say so, Ankh. I'm always here if you need me, though." It was the least he could do, after Ankh had given him the power to fight, the power to fight this war and attempt to become a king. A man who would be renowned through all the world.

Mezool didn't say anything for a few moments, then found something to say, "Do you have any goals yet?" she asked.

"Find the other OOOs and take those bastards down" Jessica said. "I thought I'd wing it from there." She rarely went in with a plan aside from keeping her face covered. "How many am I dealing with?"

Ankh smiled back at Nathan proudly. "I'm not the only one." He continued to walk behind Nathan, wondering if he should ask about the girl. Upset by the concept of yet another human attachment, he tried to distract himself. "Nathan, I want to eat something sweet! Buy me a pastry!" he demanded.
