She moved back just slightly enough to keep herself from getting beheaded, but still caught a good slash to the chest. She leaned back against the wall while still kind of standing on it.

He flipped to the ground, groaning in pain from her strike. "Ok, that wasn't supposed to happen...," he muttered.

Ankh was finding it more and more difficult to just watch. He moved closer to Nathan, scowling to hide his concern. Although he doubted Nathan could actually see his expression. His 000 was a bit preoccupied.
"Pathetic," he said with derision. "Get up!" he barked.

He pushed himself up onto his hands and knees, "I am!" he shouted back, "I'm still getting used to all of this! And it doesn't help that I'm fire and she's water..."

Ankh simply glared coldly back at Nathan. "Don't give me excuses." He gestured towards the suit. "You are this magnificent creature's 000. I chose you because I could tell you were special. You're clever and have ambition. You are going to make the whole world acknowledge your existence through piloting that.
Nathan, a king doesn't make excuses. He makes plans. It's true that water can extinguish fire but fire can also evaporate water. It all depends on how its used."
"Now stop giving excuses and get off the ground," he barked. "Or are you telling me you're too weak to push yourself to your feet? Are you telling me I overestimated you and that you were nothing more than an ordinary human to begin with?"

"Maybe you didn't choose a strong enough man," Mezool told Ankh, "Jessica, use your elemental advantage. Destroy him!"
Nathan struggled up to his feet and looked back to Ankh, "I'll prove myself to be a capable King!" he shouted.

Ankh grinned proudly back at Nathan when he stood up before quickly covering his joy and relief with a scowl. "Don't disappoint me," he said simply.
Ankh turned his attention to Mezool. "I have confidence in my selection. I wish I could say the same about yours, dear sister. And elemental advantage? That's just in your head. Fire bends to nothing. Nathan will show you just how mistaken your concept of 'elemental advantage' is," he said assuredly.
Despite his earlier words he had complete confidence in Nathan. There was no better 000 in all the world.

"You're a fool to underestimate the advantages," she told Ankh, "We all have them. Elements beating elements, animals beating animals...maybe were I Uva, you'd have a better chance."

Ankh smirked. "People don't become the stuff of legend by doing the expected and predictable. Truly extraordinary people work advantages into everything at their disposal. Your thinking is far too limited, Mezool. But then you were always like that. Only seeing what was and not what could be."

"Well, we'll see soon enough, won't we?" she questioned.

Ankh tapped his head. "Open your mind to the possibilities, dear sister." He didn't believe for a minute that she could. She was hopeless in that sense. She was good at using what was around her but only at using the tool as it was. She couldn't mold it into something more impressive. She was clever, obviously not as clever as Ankh but clever none-the-less. But she lacked creativity and Ankh would show her what a weakness that was. Or rather Nathan would.

"My mind is open," she told him, "And it tells me that elements will win out on this day, even over tactics. Because your ward clearly isn't up to fighting potential."

Ankh shook his head. "You're a clever fool, dear sister. You need to stop viewing things so simply. Broaden your horizons and gauge potentials. You always were too afraid to invest. Something weak and frail today could have the possibility to overcome everything, given the proper influences. And you're not viewing Nathan properly. I don't suppose you've ever tried your hand at chess. I was able to checkmate with pawns. Nathan's potential is better than anything you can imagine."

She shook her head, "No. That man will not rise to the position you want him to play. He's nothing more than a Pawn. I will admit, my OOO isn't a Queen, but she's at least a Knight. Knights kill Pawns."

"As always, you overlook the details, the prospect for the future, dear sister. Nathan might be a pawn for now but you remember what happens when the pawn crosses the board, correct?"
