"My recommendation is to think about it as little as possible. Try not to dwell on it." He walked over to her and gently touched her shoulder. "It'll be okay. I'm going to protect you," he promised. It was a knight's job to give peace and dreams to the innocent. Even if she didn't have much time left, even if he wasn't completely confident that he could protect her until then, he needed to project confidence to make her feel better.

Someone was thanking him? How odd. He certainly didn't get a lot of that.
She did have a really nice smile. He smiled back at Rui-chan, not certain of what to say. After a brief pause he hurriedly gestured towards the pudding. "Please try it and tell me what you think. It's my sister's favorite."

Jun nodded. "I didn't always get to see her that much. We had very different types of training. She was being raised to be a priestess and me a knight. But we were fairly close. But our responsibilities are different. I haven't seen her in quite some time." He hoped she was doing alright.

"And...so, what's the difference then?" she asked, "Between a Knight or a Priestess?" She took some of the pudding off the spoon and swallowed it. She smiled, "This is fantastic."

Jun grinned. "Rin was addicted to sweets. She would always ask me to make her pudding. I had a lot of practice! I'm glad you like it."
He paused to think about how to best explain. "That's a complicated question. Although knights perform pretty much the same basic function priests and priestesses are varied. Basically the priestesses rely much more on spells. They can maintain Horror devices and purify and seal things.
What a particular priestess does depends a lot on their strength and area of expertise. Some work on the front lines while others work behind the scene. Rin specialized in magics that were more delicate and time consuming. So I doubt she's seen much combat."

Jun shrugged. "Essentially yes but it really depends on the priestess. Some of them fight on the front lines same us. They specialize much more than Makai Knights," He explained.

"Well things seem to be pretty bad here. I'd prefer she be somewhere a little more stable," he admitted. "I haven't seen her in a while but I still worry about her."
