Charlotte nodded her head, paying close attention. She'd trust Jack's judgement. He did seem to have a very good eye for this sort of thing.

"Thanks for all your help, Jack," she said sincerely. "I'll try to surprise you with something nice as a thank you." Of course she had no idea what that would be. She couldn't draw or paint and her cooking was just average. But she'd figure something out.

Charlotte did have somewhat of a stubborn streak."No, I'm going to give you something and it's going to be amazing. You will absolutely love it," she said with supreme confidence. She'd work out the details later.

"I can be very stubborn," she said proudly. Sure that had been to her detriment in this recent incident but it was who she was and for the most part it served her well.

She beamed. "I always thought so." If she had to go through that ordeal again she'd still be just as stubborn. At least she could feel satisfied that she had tried her best to escape.
