She leaped towards Kiriha. This time she wasn't planning to strike him with her sword. The goal was to knock him down through the force of her jump and land feet first on his stomach. Her sword was ready to respond to his swing. She assumed he would try and slash at her to foil her plan. But she could parry or push aside his blade entirely with her own sword.

Once he was close, he drew the blade up, and swung it in an arc for her side, keeping his eyes on her blade.

As she had been carefully watching his sword, she managed to parry his swing mid-leap. Although parrying might give him time to realize what she was doing and move back before she could land on him. Yes, she should assume her feet would only touch the wooden floor.

He didn't move. He wanted her to make her move, and he would stop it.

She attempted to land feet first on top of his stomach, still assuming he'd thwart her at some level. But if she could knock him down she could move her sword across his throat and win. She couldn't count on that, though. He'd stop her and she'd have to adapt to whatever he did.

As she tried to land on him, he swung his sword up to try to catch hers, and nothing more. That's all he needed his sword for; to stop hers. He swung his other arm out, trying to get her waist while he moved back, intending to go down and keep control over her as she came too.

His blade caught her own and he managed to grab her waist as she landed on top of him. She attempted to unlock her blade and move it to his throat.

He was stronger, he managed to keep his blade on top of hers, even if she was on top of him. He threw his weight into her and tried to roll (away from the swords) to get on top of her.

She didn't plan on letting him get away so easily. As he threw his weight at her, she pushed back with all her force and worked to keep her blade pressed against his. She was tied up at the moment; but, she had the advantage so long as she was on top of him.

He continued to push, using all of the strength his Arcle provided him. Sure, it might be considered cheating, but oh well. He wanted to end this, now.

No wonder he was so confident. His strength was ridiculous for someone his size! No, she wouldn't be able to hold this position. She jumped off him and defensively raised her blade as she moved back. She'd have to come at this from another angle. If it was simply a matter of strength he'd push her whatever way he wanted any time.

Time to go on the offensive. He came up, swung his sword to his side, and ran for her, twisting and thrusting his sword out for her chest as he closed the distance. He had his side facing her as he thrust, and also was ready to move his blade if she dodged; he wanted to strike her, to put an end to this already.

He was stronger and faster than Sayuri for sure; but, she was more experienced with swords. She could tell where he was aiming for based on the movements in his wrist. She blocked block after blow, waiting for the moment where there would be a break in his assault. At that time she'd cut up with her sword, aiming for his chest. She could be patient and parry until then.

He plunged again, but turned that thrust into a side slash, aiming down for one of her legs by angling his weapon.

Sayuri quickly moved her blade to parry. Normally she'd try to force her opponent back; but, she knew his strength. She jumped back before leaping forward with a sideways slash, aiming for Kiriha's throat.
